Do you use these batteries for your Cordless Phone or toy remotes etc? Does the batteries don’t get charged properly or seems completely dead.

Well it is time to visit the Panasonic authorized service center for a check up.

Recently I made a visit to the Panasonic authorized service center for a replacement of my batteries. The service center guy insisted me to bring my cordless phone with the base station. At first I felt bad, but it was for good.

This time I took my cordless phone and the service center guy checked up my batteries. He asked me whether the cordless was in charging. I said no. He took up a different instrument and connected the wires to the battery and gave a jump start kind of thing. The reason he gave was if the batteries are completely dead you can’t do any thing just replace. If your batteries were discharged you could do this stuff to get it working. He asked me to charge the batteries for 24 hours for 1st time and there after which 3 hours a day and not any more. Handset needs to be removed from the basestation.

Annanagar Panasonic service center just saved me 225INR. The are building a good customer relationship.

Nokia N-Series N70 is no more

This is my Nokia N-series N70 which I brought it at Saravana Stores 6 months before, one of the best places to buy Mobiles at cheap prices.

Last Sunday, I was chatting with my dad over Phone, who is at native place, and my son wanted to talk to his grand father, when I handed over the phone to him. The phone just took a dive in to chutney (Indian Sauce) which was placed near by, The conversation got over, I switch off my mobile and used vacuum cleaner to pull out the chutney. I turned my mobile on, and it didn’t turn on. I took the mobile to HCL infinet at Mount road for servicing they declared that my Nokia N- series N70 is no more alive.

I still have to continue paying my EMI for the next 2 months.

Why this whole post?
certainly not to get sympathy, Most of the times we don’t know (ignorant) or never tend to ask for the option to protect our tender gadgets. There is an option called AMC – Annual Maintenance contract with 3rd parties eg. for Nokia it is HCL infinet for a price of 900 INR I could have saved my mobile.

Next time you get a high tech Gadget, do find out how to get it under warranty.
BTW if you are in Chennai and you know of a nice Mobile servicing center who makes dead thing live. Please do let me know the contact information. And please do post comments on the AMC if you are have one for your mobile and come across any good solutions/problems with the AMC too.

Apple iPhone is more on Usability, for the Class and not Mass

Long time ago I said in one of my post
“Why in the first place do we need keys for our gadgets why not just touch screens, view a large video, type things like you find one on the tablet PC or handheld devices (PDAs).” read here –>

Apple is the only company who seemed to understand the needs of customer or can I say the comfortable use of the instrument. The transition from iPod to iPhone is great with out loosing for the usability. From the wheel to the current touch screen which is available on the iPhone.

There are lots of users who are worried about how to depart from word processors which they have been using on black berry or other devices, if you understand that it is only the software which they need to update. Remember the iTunes had couple of updates for your iPod, now mostly looks rock solid. The worst case is that you have sites like writely  or Zoho Writer who could ease processor power of the instrument as well as storage.

Well Indian users want to have a hang of the iPhone, where there is battle for Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and the black berry, in terms of the high end Phones. Wish iPhone could join the battle. They could tie up the biggest network the Airtel in India.

My Bet is iPhone could win in India,Singapore than the U.S market.

Castrol BikeZone – is it Logo Imitation

Look at the above 2 logo’s both say that they are from Castrol, Does Bike point is part of castrol, just like Castrol BikeZone, I found this store at
velachery road, saidapet, close the sify office. Actually speaking I wanted to leave my bike for servicing, but I still don’t have a list of the castrol Bike Zone (s), if I get one I will list them all here for all of you service your 2 wheelers.
